And Two and a Half Months Later...

I guess I'm not so good at updating! We've had a great first two (plus) months with little Elsie. The birth/recovery/first weeks went soooooo much better than with Ethan which sure helped a lot. Elsie is a different baby all around; I can't exactly put my finger on how she's different but I know she is. We're getting into a little routine now and she's even given us a couple 6 hour sleep stretches.

Ethan seems to enjoy being a big brother. He is forever putting his favorite things into her bouncy seat...wrench, hammer, and whatever else he has at the moment that he likes. He doesn't yet understand her space needs so I find myself on guard trying to keep him from smashing her accidentally.

Elsie is starting to give us huge smiles! No laughing yet but lots of fun happy sounds. At Lowe's yesterday some of the female employees were talking to her and she was just smiling to beat the band! It's been about two weeks since Elsie joined us. She was one week overdue and born (quickly!) on the 21st, 9 lb 5 oz, 21 inches long. She's healthy and happy and adjusting to life in this world well. Here are some photos of the first weeks at home.

No Baby Yet

We are 8 days and counting till the official due date (Valentine's Day). I thought this baby would be born early but she's hanging in there growing a bit more before she comes. I was thinking the other day how the Lord has a day planned for each of us to be born and how we carry that day through our whole lives. As a mom I'm ready to get this baby born! But the Lord has the day and time set and we'll wait and see what that is.

A Few Home Update Photos

I'm busy these days getting out the baby things and trying to keep the house clean and work on projects. Whew! Here are a few photos from the past weeks:

Almost 32 weeks.

Ethan was finding treasures while I was working in the guest room, so cute!

Helping daddy snake the drain. Turns out the pipes were completely blocked by black icky stuff. Now we have all new pipes and everything drains!

The next few shots are of our living room all unpacked and put together.

Ethan pulled the large cans of tomato juice out of the cupboards and then stacked them on his three wheeler. He was quite proud of this. The cans are pretty heavy too!
